KWEST

Arts-Integrated Early Childhood Lessons

KWEST (Kaleidoscope Wants Everyone Succeeding Together) provides a series of arts-integrated tools that enhance any curriculum, or stand alone to boost teacher engagement and student success. With both a spiral-bound lesson book and digital resources, teachers can access quick tips, comprehensive lessons, and additional materials to engage families.

KWEST is made possible through the generous support of the Caroline Alexander Buck Foundation, the Marrazzo Family Foundation, and by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community and Economic Development.

Research-Based Lessons

Research has demonstrated that integrating the arts into early childhood education significantly enhances school readiness while also boosting happiness and reducing anxiety in young children.

KWEST is grounded in research by Dr. Eleanor Brown and colleagues from West Chester University, done at Settlement Music School’s Kaleidoscope Preschool Program. Compared to students at high-quality preschools without arts integration, these studies have demonstrated that arts-integrated preschool environments lead to 3x vocabulary growth, 60% increase in personal happiness and pride, significant reduction of stress levels among students, and more.

KWEST gives my staff the confidence to merge arts lessons into their current practice and routine. It includes simple, yet meaningful experiences that can be used by everyone.
